This public bath was founded 63 years ago. In this history, we have been loved by a large number of families. We are so happy to have some customers’ grandchildren as our new guests. This long history has been created with them. The atmosphere in here is the classic style in *the Showa era. There is calm and tranquil environment. Green neon lights are beautiful in medicinal bath, which is the speciality of Hananoyu.(*The Showa era (1926-1989): This era expresses Japanese classic culture and style.)
You can feel relief whenever you come in such a public bath, “Hananoyu”.We recommed that you come and enjoy this sento once. You will surely feel Japanese classic culture as if you had time travel to the Showa period. Then it is sure that you can loosen up your body as well.
The Rules for Taking a Bath
- Please put your clothes in a basket.
- Please do not forget to wash yourself well with hot water before getting into a bathtub.
- Please bind your long hair in a bun, which looks beautiful in clouds of steam.
- Please do not put your towel in a bathtub.
- Please do not dye your hair.
- Before taking a sauna bath, please wipe your body with a towel.
- After finishing taking a sauna bath, please wash your sweat off with water. Then you can take a water bath.
Please observe following rules and
take a bath comfortably.

Medicinal bath
Our famous medicinal bath offers yiu plenty of therapeutic benefits!. The green water, scented with iris, is slightly lukewarm, allowing you to relax and soak comfortably. The orange neon lights sparkle beautifully.
Electric bath
It will tingles and relieves your tension! Quite strong! It might be one of the strongest in Kyoto! Be sure to check out the bathing benefits too.
Jet bath
We have two types: one where you can sit, and the other where you can stretch your legs.The jet water flow helps relieve your fatigue.Relax with the bubbles that rise with gentle pops.
Deep bath & Sallow bath
The deep bath is the main bath, so the temperature is on the hotter side. Submerge yourself up to your neck and feel the pleasant water pressure. For the shallow bath, stretch your legs and relax. It's also recommended to leisurely gaze at the fountain in the middle. It's favorite among children as well as adults.
Cold-Water bath
Cool down your body that’s warmed up in the sauna.Be sure to rinse off your sweat with a bucket or shower before entering.The alternating hot and cold baths are great for promoting health!
Sauna bath
The dry sauna at Hana no Yu is a popular feature!
The temperature of the sauna for men is set at 100°C, while the one for women is set at the gentler 80°C, allowing for a slow, deep sweat and a thorough detox.
*Please be careful not to spend too much time in the sauna.
